About

For more than 30 years, Orr’s Island Campground, developed and operated by the Bond family, has been satisfying campers searching for a quiet spot with basic amenities along the Maine coast. Campers looking for a peaceful experience, surrounded by nature, can find relaxation on a serene stretch of coast with spectacular views and varied attractions. The focus is seasonal camping -- staying from May 15 to October 9; however, there are some sites available for weekly-minimum stays of one or two weeks, or one or two months, between mid-June and mid-September.

The Point

  • 70 sites with full hookups of electric, water and sewer
  • Full hookup sites have 30/50 amp service and can handle camping units up to 35 feet in length, and with multiple slide-outs on both sides
  • Camping restricted to self-contained camping units with full working bathrooms. No tents or pop-ups accepted.
  • Advance reservations required for all sites.  Reservations require one week at minimum.
  • Office open on weekends and limited hours on weekdays for ice, ice cream, candy, drinks, firewood and some camping supplies
  • Playing field for children, with games and recreational equipment to borrow for family fun
  • Trails through woods and along shore for bird watching and wild berry picking in season
  • Quiet hours run from 10 PM to 8 AM with no noise or activities to disturb neighbors
  • Coin-operated laundry facilities
  • Public pay phone
  • Small lending library for books
  • One family — defined as two adults and their children 18 and younger — and strictly one vehicle per site
  • Dogs are allowed provided that they are leashed, quiet, and accompanied by their owner at all times — which includes not being left alone in a camping unit when owners leave the campground property.
  • Maximum of one dog per site
  • Telephone and cable hookups for television and internet access available on most sites for seasonal campers
  • Half-mile of saltwater shore on Casco Bay with use limited to campers -- not open to public
  • Pebbly beach in protected cove for swimming at high tide and beachcombing at low tide
  • Floating dock for fishing and access to boats, according to tides
  • Access to shore around high tide with unpaved boat launching area for vehicles with four-wheel drive
