The 2012 Season

Please come visit us for a week or two, a month or two, or the entire summer!

We are focused on seasonal camping -- meaning campers stay for the entire season of approximately four and a half months -- but can also accommodate stays of anywhere from a week at minimum to a couple of months on non-view sites along Midship Road.  Two North Bluff sites are available only for weekly-minimum stays with Saturday arrivals and departures.

Seasonal camping

We are accepting applications for seasonal stays for the 2012 season.  At this time we have one water view site available, as well as many non-view sites.  Some details for seasonal camping are available on the web site.  Additional information is available by request via phone -- 207-833-5595; e-mail to camping@orrsisland.com; or USPS mail -- Orr's Island Campground, 44 Bond Point Road, Orrs Island, ME 04066.

Weekly to monthly stays

Reservations for weekly-minimum stays will be accepted starting on February 1, 2012 by USPS mail only.  If you provide us with your USPS mailing address, we will send the January 2012 mailing to provide you with rates, details on how to make a reservation, and a reservation form.

Two North Bluff sites are available for weekly-minimum stays with Saturday arrivals and departures only at the rate of $300 per week.

Non-view sites on Midship Road are available for weekly or longer stays with flexible arrival and departure dates at the rate of $200 per week.

All sites have full hookups of water, electric and sewer hookups and will be restricted to self-contained camping units with full working bathrooms. We no longer accept tents or pop-up campers.

Please see the Rates page for our complete rate details.

Reservations for weekly stays must be made in advance. The required deposit will be equivalent to the weekly rate.  The deposit is refundable, minus a $25 bookkeeping fee, with four weeks notice prior to the arrival date.  The state's 7 percent lodging tax will be due upon arrival.

A reservation deposit must be submitted via a check or money order through the USPS mail, beginning with a Feb. 1, 2012 USPS postmark.  We do NOT accept credit cards for reservations. Please, do not send credit card information. Do NOT send cash.

When registering at the office upon arrival, we will accept the following forms of payment for the balance due on the site: cash, traveler's checks, or a personal check from one of the six New England states, provided you have a driver's license for identification that matches the information on the check.  We define the six New England states as Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

2012 Deposit Amounts

The required deposits for weekly stays are equivalent to the weekly rate: $200 for non-view sites; and $300 for bluff sites.
Please inquire in advance regarding availability and deposits for monthly stays before sending reservation request.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required with an application to hold a seasonal site if the application is made before March 1.  A second non-refundable $500 deposit is due no later than March 1.  Any applications made after March 1 will require a non-refundable $1,000 deposit.  All balances -- which vary according to the site location as detailed on the rate page -- are due by May 1.

Refunds & Fees

Refunds of deposits for weekly stays require four weeks' notice prior to arrival date, minus a $25.00  bookkeeping fee. There will be no refund of any payments after arrival.

Seasonal sites require deposits totalling $1,000 for 2012, with the balance -- including the state's 7% lodging tax -- due no later than May 1.  The deposits of $1,000 are non-refundable and non-transferable.  The balance due payments are refundable -- up to June 30 -- with seven-days' notice prior to departure and are pro-rated using weekly rates according to the time elapsed between May 19 and the departure date, plus lodging tax.  There will be no refunds of any seasonal payments after June 30.

A $35.00 fee will be charged for checks returned unpaid by the bank.  We do not redeposit checks returned unpaid by the bank.  You must submit a money order for the amount of the unpaid check plus the $35.00 fee.

Restrictions and Details

All sites now include water, electric and sewer hookups.

All sites are strictly limited to one family, one vehicle and one dog. By one family, we mean two adults and their children 18 years of age and younger. Extra adults in the same extended family may be allowed with approval in advance at $15.00 per person per night as long as they are traveling in the same vehicle and staying in the same camping unit for the same time period as the rest of the family. Additional fees, charges or sites apply in all other situations. We do not accept overnight visitors, so the family must be traveling together.

We allow one dog per site, with the following conditions: All dogs of any size or age must be on a leash with an adult at all times. Leashes must be shortened to 6-feet when walking around campsites. Longer leashes are only allowed in specified dog walking areas. Dogs must be accompanied by an owner at all times, which means dogs cannot be left alone in camping units when owners leave the campground property. Dogs are allowed in specified areas of the campground waterfront.  There are a variety of dog day care options available in the area if owners are unable to take the dog with on outings. We can provide names and contact information ahead of time as most require reservations in advance.  Dogs are expected to be generally quiet. Owners are expected to prompty clean up dog waste and dispose of it in plastic bags in the trash. It is not acceptable to leave dog waste in the bushes or wooded areas.

Day visitors for weekly-minimum campers may visit between 9 AM and 9 PM with two exceptions: no visitors are allowed on any Saturdays, nor are they allowed on Sundays of three-day holiday weekends. We can provide you with a local map with locations available for get-togethers away from the campground.

Seasonal sites have different rules regarding day and overnight visitors.  The details are available upon request with an informational packet including seasonal rules.

We do not accept day visitors with dogs. They must be left at home, or we can give you the name of a local pet sitter so that arrangements can be made in advance.

Campers may check in anytime after 11 AM. No early arrivals, please.
Campers must check out by 10 AM.

* Prices and rules are subject to change without notice.
